I’m going to start off by saying that this isn’t a sponsored post.
What it is though, is a post about an organisation that I am 100% onboard with supporting.
Last week I was introduced to Niulife, a 100% not-for-gloss social enterprise that’s really serious about erasing poverty and empowering lives in some of the world’s poorest remote coastal communities.
Everything they do is all about the people that they empower, and the lives that they are changing.
In a nutshell, Niulife helps improve the rural population of tropical countries by increasing the utilisation of coconuts throughout the pacific and the world. They provide the assistance and equipment to these countries so that they are able to make and produce coconut products.
“Niulife DME® Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is the only Australian owned, handmade certified organic oil that is 100% village-produced within an hour of the opening the nut with all profits going directly back to the communities that made it”.
Niulife is the first organisation that I’ve heard of that gives BACK 100% of their profits to the villages that they work with, so that they can enjoy a better quality of life.
Late last week I was invited to a warehouse tour of the Niulife headquarters.
Being an avid user of coconut oil products, I was extremely intrigued and very excited to meet with team, and hear more about this incredible social enterprise.
I was lucky enough to meet Niulife Founder Dr Dan Etherington, and the Niulife General Manager and chat with them about all things coconut oil, the incredible work that they do for remote, poverty stricken communities, as well as taste test their delicious (and super nutritious) products.
I can confidently say that the Niulife products are all of fantastic quality (and I’ve taste tested or used the majority of them!).
With so many coconut oil brands now on the market it’s hard to know which coconut oil to choose, especially when one is $4.99 and other is $9.99 for the same size jar.
Cheap coconut oils are often mass produced copra oil made in factories from coconuts that have been left open for days or even weeks. The oil is often low quality and requires refinement through bleaching and deodorizing with harsh solvents and chemicals. This process removes the natural anti-oxidants and volatiles that give pure coconut oil its flavour and aroma.
Niulife DME™ Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is different.
The Niulife DME™ Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is handmade in the villages where the coconuts are grown. The coconuts are hand-pressed within an hour of opening the nut, then triple filtered to ensure only the purest Extra Virgin Coconut Oil makes it into every jar of Niulife.
What struck a chord with me, from meeting the Niulife team, was that they are all just SO PASSIONATE about what they do, and 100% focused on giving 100% of their profits back to the communities and remote villages.
The sale of each jar of coconut oil, and each Niulife product really does make a difference.
So next time you’re needing a restock of your coconut oil, condiments, or bathroom products; then please do consider purchasing Niulife products.
Not only will you be receiving quality products, but you’ll also be helping others who are less fortunate along the way…
