I have forever been a lover of high heels.

Whether it’s got to do with loving that feeling I get when I pop on a fresh pair of high heels and walk around like I’m on my own catwalk, or simply because I am only 157cm tall ( and I need the height) – I live in them!

It is very rare that you’ll see me not wearing heels, and the days when I do wear flats – I feel just like a school girl again.

However lately, I have found quite a few pairs of flats that I feel my short body could pull off. Gone are the days where ballet flats were just a flat shoe with sections covering the base and side of the foot. Now, there are a variety of styles, shapes, and coloured flats available.

Some feature intricate laces and wrap-around features, others have silver or gold toned eyelets and detailing, and some even have the slightest of small heel so you can still have the high heel sound as you walk around – bonus!

ShoesBelow I have showcased 9 pairs of flats that I definitely think you need to add into your Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Each of these range from less $ to more $$$, depending on what you’re looking for.

One thing that I like to remember when buying a pair of flats is that quality is key – which most of the time does mean a very $$$ price tag…

1. Topshop Kappacino Patent Buckle Shoe

I fell in love with these flats as soon as I laid my eyes on them – aren’t they cool!? These Topshop flats are super rebellious and feature a multi buckle style across the top, which adds a super chic and tailored look. They also feature a small heel which makes them great for the office too. Just pair them with tailored black pants and a white collared shirt.

2. Topshop T-Strap Flat

I adore a flat with t-strap detailing – they add such a chic touch and refresher to the usual style of flat shoe. These Topshop t-strap flats feature an exotic print with their snake embossed style, and polished t-strap. I consider this style of snake print to be on the classier side, and these would be easy to style with a pair of denim boyfriend jeans and a white tee.

3. Steve Madden Ballet Flat

I own a few pairs of Steve Madden shoes and find that the quality is superb! These flats feature a gorgeous ocean blue suede colouring, lace up front and wrap tie closure. Perfect for styling with a cute long-sleeved dress for those warmer winter days.

4. Topshop Studded Point Shoe

Studs are a pretty big deal right now, and these Topshop flats a great for those who have been lusting after the Valentino studded flats for years! I love the nude style of these flats with their softly pointed toe and edgy, strappy finish. The buckle ties at the ankle make them great for adding shape to your look and I am visioning these paired with a cute LBW!

5. Isabel Marant Suede Ballet Flats

Ahhhh Isabel Marant – one of my biggest loves! I have been eyeing off these flats for some time now, simply because of their shape and intricate gold eyelets and crisscross laces.

These flats are crafted from a supple tan suede and have a high heel panel for a secure fit. Wear these with practically anything from printed dresses to boyfriend jeans.

6. Stuart Weitzman Point Toe Flats

These flats are a little different, but I think they are great for those who are seriously looking to steer away from the classic ballet flat. These Stuart Weitzman point toe flats feature delicate lace up ties, and an open, slip on back. The light tan colouring would go perfectly with lighter shades of denim.

7. Kendall + Kylie Sage Flat

This is another pair of lace up flats that would work for any occasion, especially for days in the office. These Kendall + Kylie flats feature a suede upper with man made sole, lace up front with tie closure, and back zip closure.

8. Michael Kors Point-Toe Flats

Slingback flats are back and are the perfect pair of flats for when you’re quickly rushing out the door. These Michael Kors flats feature a sophisticated and sleek look with their two tone, monochrome colouring, as well as smooth white leather and glossy black patent-leather finish. These would look best with cropped pants or a midi skirt.

9. X For Love & Lemons Paloma Flat

Last but not least, another pair of black lace up flats – a girl’s gotta have options doesn’t she? These X For Love & Lemons Flats feature a slightly pointed toe, wrap tie ankle closure and suede finish.

Have I managed to convince you fellow high heel lovers that there ARE flats out there that can still give you that same shoe-lovin feeling? Which pair is your favourite?
