When it comes to getting the world excited and interested in the world of healthy and wellbeing, there is very little that Lola Berry won’t do.

A Nutritionist and wellness expert, Lola has become a go-to girl for healthy recipes that taste delicious, and she truly is an inspiration to many for good eating habits and her holistic approach to beauty.

We were lucky enough to have 5 minutes with Lola Berry, where we asked her all about her healthy lifestyle, and found out how important it is to be kind to your soul.

Lola, how did your interest in health and nutrition develop into a full time career and business?

I was always a bit of a health nerd growing up. Mum used to send me to school with spirulina balls, so for me it’s been part of life ever since I can remember. As far as how it became business for me, well that was just a cold call to Channel 10 and I got my first gig on a morning show. That was where everything started for me.

How do you keep on top of your busy lifestyle? And what is your definition of having a balanced lifestyle?

Some days I’m totally on top of it and feel like I have so much balance whilst there are other days that can get a bit overwhelming. To be honest, I think I like things busier, I love to be on the go and planning dreams, then when I take down time it’s often travel and nature adventures that brings me balance.

What does a day in the life of Lola look like?

It changes every day but it will usually involve some yoges (that’s my word for yoga), some kind of green smoothie, emails (that can happen anywhere, in my car, at a café, at the airport, anywhere), then writing or some kind of shoot then more time out in nature.

What is your health philosophy?

Honour your body, do what feels right. Start to tune into your body and the things that make you feel full of energy and vital.

What is the best way to stay healthy whilst on the road and travelling?

Food prep is key and also having strong will power. It’s often easy to slip when you’re traveling, and it’s fine if you’re doing it mindfully and enjoying it, but I have found eating healthy sometimes takes work and discipline. I often will order off the menu.

How do you suggest people make the first few steps to pursue a more soul-filling career and life?

Start living from the heart and do what you love, life is way to short to not be doing what you love. Take risks and most importantly believe in yourself. That’s the key.

What are some things that you do on the days when you’re not feeling 100%?

Yoga, sauna, nature, massage, see a mate, go for a walk, laugh, go to a movie, read a book, write down my dreams.

A life mantra that you live by?

You are the only person who can make your dreams come true, you are also the only person who can stop you.

What’s next for Lola Berry?

I’m about to bring a new book out in November which I’m rapt about, bit of travel and lots of yoga adventures!
