As February is quickly coming to a close I thought I’d put together my February Favourites, which features a few new makeup items, and a gorgeous pair of ceramic earrings from a local Canberra ceramist.
Expect one of these favourites posts popping up each month.
L’Oréal Paris February New Release Products
At the beginning of February, I was very lucky to be gifted four new makeup items from the new February L’Oréal Paris range. As with anything that I am gifted, I like to trial and test before I post and show to you, my loyal followers.
When I received these products, I was very keen to give them a try, as I have always liked using L’Oréal Paris makeup products, and I love that I can easily head down to my local chemist or Priceline pharmacy to check out their range.
L’Oréal Paris False Lash Superstar Mascara – RRP $28.95
I’ve always been tricked into trying out the latest in mascaras. This is simply because words such as “LONGER LASHES” and “VOLUME”, really do make me excited and transform me into thinking that that particular mascara really is going to make my lashes look long and lushes. Pretty much, I am a marketers dream!
So, when I tried the L’Oréal Paris Superstar Mascara, I was actually SURPRISED when it really did transform my lashes to make them super-sized and super long. The Superstar mascara promised to offer show-stopping lashes in 2 effortless steps:
Step One: Volumise lashes with the white super-sizing primer and corset brush. This white liquid is designed to prep your lashes.
Step Two: Lengthen lashes: The ultra-black fibre formula glides over the lashes, lifting them to provide length and a volumised look.
This is definitely a mascara that gives you exactly what is advertised!
L’Oréal Paris Super Liner Superstar – RRP $24.95
I have always had a love/hate relationship with liquid eyeliner, actually – with eyeliner in general. I do have small eyelids, so really do struggle to position the eyeliner in a way that doesn’t cover my entire eyelid. It’s something I have been practising, and would love to learn how to do better.
The L’Oréal Superstar Liner was actually surprisingly easy to use – so I assume its great for those who aren’t makeup artists! The Superstar liner promises to “transform your look in one daring stroke” – and to be honest, it actually did. It was effortlessly easy to apply to my eyelids, and lasted hours, which is a bonus! The flexible tip allowed me to slowly contour my eyes, and the slow release ink made sure that I had perfect control when drawing the line.
L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude Eyeshadow – RRP $29.95
If my personality was made into an eyeshadow palette, then it would be the La Palette Nude, as the colours are absolutely divine, and 100% ones that I can see myself wearing day to day.
The L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette, consists of 10 shades – beige tones from shimmery champagnes to brazen browns, as well as rose toned shades from pale blush to sparkly pinks and mauve. This provides the wearer with a range of minimalist and sophisticated/smouldering looks, ideal for wear all throughout the year.
A word with Karim Rahman, L’Oréal Paris Global Makeup Designer
“Never before has a colour palette offered such a full range of shades: with it, I can create several combinations, from minimalist, nearly transparent nudes to smoky, ultra-intense nudes.”
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte FX Lip Colour 07, Say My Name – RRP $23.95
I am FOREVER on the lookout for a lip colour that not only colours my lips with the perfect shade, but also lasts longer than 5 minutes – AND it’s even better if it doesn’t stain or bleed (no one wants to look like Dracula…)
The L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte FX Lip Colour in 07 is an absolute breeze to apply, and is an incredible shade of red. This is a transfer-proof formula of lip colour that lasts for 10 hours and offers a powder matte effect, all with zero dryness. It comes in 6 bold matte shades, and the 07 Say My Name is definitely one of my favourites!
Chanel Le Blush Crème
I bought this blush last year, duty free on my way through to London. Having used it nearly every day since, I still haven’t run out! This is what I love most about cream blushes, is that there always seems to be a never ending supply. This Chanel Le Blush Crèam is great for achieving a satiny finish on your skin, and blends in super well. It is also a great way for sculpting and accentuating the cheekbones.
Mac Studio Finish Concealer
The lightweight, creamy Mac Studio Finish Concealer has forever been a go-to for me. It provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes, and is water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic.
The very lovely Anne Masters is the wonderful woman behind AM/PM Ceramics. Anne is a ceramist living and working in a gorgeous part of Canberra, Australia and she kindly gifted me a pair of her gorgeous, handmade earrings! Anne works with Australian Southern Ice porcelain created by Les Blakebrough and manufactured in Australia, and she truly has the talent for creating delicate and detailed pieces.
Fir, Floral and Quilt are her specialty designs, and I was gifted a pair of the Quilt Earrings in Matte White. These are perfect for my small ears, and add such a gorgeous touch to any look with their white, porcelain finish.
I love the delicacy of Anne’s work, and really appreciate the detail. Each earring is hand pressed and fired twice for strength, and there are two sizes available – Petite 8mm diameter and Small 10.5 diameter. Purchase your own pair here!
Each of the L’Oréal Paris and AM/PM Ceramic items listed and featured above were gifted to me for Editorial Consideration. Check out my Disclosure Policy, and how you can work with me here.
