GREEN SMOOTHIE FOR YOUR FACE – TODAY IS OURS

Lately I’ve been really into skincare and looking after my skin, especially now that it’s winter and a super important time to be looking after your face and body.

As always, I am interested in using and learning more about products that are good for the environment, are certified organic, practice fair trade and use natural ingredients. Ideally, we all deserve the best inside and out, but so does out planet.

One brand that I have recently come across that has this same ideology is today is ours.

today is ours is a beauty brand that develops natural, organic face and body products. They pride themselves in only using natural ingredients, never any nasties, and all of their products are vegan and cruelty free.

I recently had the pleasure of trying their  Super Greens Face Mask, which is a dry formulation of natural Australian clays, nutrient rich super greens, and antioxidising ingredients. What I love most about this product is that each face mask can be personalised depending on your skin type.

When I received my today is ours Super Greens Face Mask I was pleasantly surprised to see a can of Nakula Coconut Water accompanying the package. At first I thought it was to drink as I indulged in my little pamper session, but was excited to learn that the coconut water was actually to be used on my face!

The way the face mask works is that you add 1 teaspoon of the powder into a bowl and slowly add your choice of “activator”. This could be any of these products below:

– Coconut oil

– Rose & Kakadu Plum toner

– Herbal tea (cooled to room temperature)

– Freshly squeezed orange juice

– Coconut water

– Cold brew coffee

– Cold pressed juice

– Mashed avocado

– Apple Cider Vinegar (diluted 50/50 with water).

Add your choice of activator until the powder turns into a paste, and start spreading at all over your face. When I first made my mixture I was a little too excited and poured far too much coconut water in. What I’ve learnt is you should add a little, and then stir and add a little more only if necessary, as the more you stir the mixture, the quicker it becomes a paste.

Leave it on your face for 10 minutes, while you enjoy the rest of your chosen activator (if it is drinkable of course!), and then wash off the mask with warm water. I followed my mask with some Rose Hip Oil.
