The thing about boyfriend jeans, is that anyone can wear them (trust me, you can!).
What I love about this style of denim jean is that they can be dressed up, either by adding heels or a dressy top and jacket, or dressed down with a pair of sneakers or ballet flats. Depending on the occasion, you really can wear them any time of day!
At the moment, Canberra has been experiencing weather that is very ‘in-between’ and I feel that it may be time to pull out my second boyfriend (sorry Sam!). If I could wear boyfriend jeans to work then I could, but there is a strict ‘No Denim” policy, so I have to reserve my boyfriend jean obsession till the weekends.
Below I have listed a few high street boyfriend jean styles that are not only super affordable, but look very chic! Being an avid fan of denim, I love experimenting with different shades, and this season I’m planning on purchasing a few more lighter shades as opposed to the darker styles that I normally opt for.
TIPS FOR STYLING BOYFRIEND JEANS
– Proportions are SUPER important to remember when wearing this style of denim. As boyfriend jeans are usually a lot looser than your normal style of denim, you need to ensure that you’re styling accordingly. This means not over doing it on the baggy side, and pairing your pants with a fitted jacket or shirt, to provide shape to your look.
– Always wear a top that is slightly lighter or slightly darker than the jeans you are wearing. You’ll see why once you try it.
– For jeans that are too long, or when you want to change up your look, you can roll the cuffs up 2-3 times. Try pairing this look with a fitted shirt with rolled up cuffs too.
So, have you picked your favourite pair yet? Personally I have the ASOS Brady Boyfriend Jeans currently on my wish list!
