I’m always on the lookout for the perfect white dress.
One that doesn’t make me look like a sack, make me feel like I’m a school girl, and isn’t too form fitting.
And it’s safe to say, I think I’ve found the perfect one!
I stumbled across this IDS Fashions Wide Sleeve Dress recently, and knew that it would be the perfect white dress for me, especially for spring/summer wear.
Because I love to channel a structured look, this white dress provides just the right amount of structure and shape, as well as a point of difference with the wide, bell sleeves.
With the weather slowly starting to warm up, I decided to style this dress on it’s own with a pair of patterned booties, to add a touch of colour and statement.
However, in the cooler months I can definitely see myself pairing this dress with leather look pants, or denim jeans.
I love wearing a sleeve that has a bell or wide shape, but sometimes they can be difficult to style.
HOW TO STYLE STATEMENT SLEEVES
– Ensure that the sleeves are your statement, and can be seen. It’s no use wearing a shirt with bell or wide sleeves, if you’re going to cover them up by wearing an over sized jacket or jumper over the top. Wear them out and wear them proud – they are meant to provide a statement.
– Always have balance in your look. Apply the rule of either busy on top, structured on bottom or vice versa.
– Experiment! Whilst having your bell or wide sleeves as the statement is key, it’s also important to add a touch of excitement. For this outfit, I added a couple of white and crystal necklaces, as well as a pair of leopard print boots, just to balance the look.
This style of dress is pretty much a white shirt, with a unique twist – which I think is why I’m so obsessed with it!
Style it up with ankle boots or heels and some fancy accessories, or down with a pair of cool sneakers and a baseball cap. Really, the options are endless.
