ENDOTA SPA: A SKIN CONSULTATION

Sponsored by endota spa

Well well well, we’re almost at the end of 2019 – how can that be?

Are you like me and feel like the year has completely FLOWN by in a flash?

With so much having happened this year (expect an end of year wrap up blog post to come!), I was so thrilled when endota spa reached out to collaborate with me for the month of December, as it is by far one of the best spa networks in Australia.

Having been treated by endota spa in Canberra before, I know firsthand how incredible their team and services are.

From facials, to skin treatments, to massages, manicures and more; endota spa have paved the way for wellbeing to be considered a priority rather than a treat.

My beautiful Mum always instilled a good skincare routine in me from a young age, and it is something that I am super vigilant with these days.

I love looking after my skin, and seeing the positive results I get when I maintain a good skincare routine too.

Last week I visited endota spa (located in the Canberra Centre) for a skin consultation, which involved a lot more than I thought it would!

From what I thought would be a simple chat about my skin and current skincare regime, became an in depth skin consultation and analysis – which was exactly what I needed!

It was also an opportunity for me to learn about the New Age Blue Light Defence products which endota spa have recently launched. These products are perfect for those who are conscious of the damage that blue light from phones and computer screens can do to their skin.

The consultation began with a skin assessment, which involved having my skin hydration levels tested via a little machine held up to my face.

I’ve always had a consistent skincare routine, and thought that my hydrations levels would be at a pretty good level.

Boy was I wrong.

See it turns out my skin wasn’t as hydrated as I thought it was, as it ranked 27 out of 60 on the scale!

Mind you, I was reassured that this is fairly normal given the climate and that we’ve just gotten out of winter!

After the hydration test, it was time to place my face under a very unflattering light, where we were able to get an indication on where some of the problem spots are on my skin – such as pigmentation, congestion or ageing.

From here, the lovely team where able to give me an idea on what we need to focus on with treatments and products in the coming months, so that we can get my skin up to peak hydrations levels (hell yeah!).

Part of this consultation involved learning more about the endota New Age Blue Light Defence products.

Now, before I get into more detail about this – if you spend a lot of time in front of your iPhone or computer screen, then LISTEN UP.

As we all know, skin damage can be caused by a high energy visible light (known as blue light) from our phones and computer screens. This blue light is penetrating deep into the skin, making the skin age faster.

Blue light irradiation negatively affects all skin layers, and impacts the skin in the following ways:

  • induces oxidative stress, via both reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS) leading to damaged proteins and lipids;
  • contributes to photo-aging and glycation of the skin;
  • weakens the epidermal barrier and delays barrier recovery; and
  • disrupts melanocyte activity, leading to uneven and excessive pigmentation.

Essentially, we’re getting significantly more blue light exposure than we used to from the sun alone. Spending four eight-hour workdays in front of a computer exposes you to the same amount of energy as 20 minutes in the mid- day sun!

Endota spa’s Blue Light Defence products have been designed to defend your skin against blue light through their Blue Light Defence HydroMist and HydroCream.

So, how does it work?

The products provide 72 hours of intense & continuous hydration, and work as a barrier to protect the skin from premature ageing caused by Blue Light & environmental pollution.

They also resist & deflect blue light pollution & blue light stress away from skin.

And they’r seriously so easy to use too!

This is a product that you can use both night and day.

In the morning apply, after you have used your other skin products, before you spend your day at your screen.

In the evening, apply right before bed (because who doesn’t still check their phone before they go to sleep!?).

I’ve started to use the HydroCream since this appointment, and am really looking forward to seeing the results in the coming weeks/months!

If you are wanting to learn a little more about your skin’s hydration, as well as the areas of your face that need a little more TLC; book an appointment at one of endota spas 90 locations around Australia.

Trust me, you’ll learn a lot more about your skin than what you already know!
