London is one of my most favourite cities in the world.
Famous for Big Ben, red buses & black cabs, the city of London holds a very special place in my heart.
This is now my fourth time visiting, and I’ve spent so much time exploring parts of the city I’ve never been to before.
Every corner that I turn there is a beautiful building, a famous landmark or something magical that catches my eye!
For those that haven’t been following along on my Instagram stories, I am in London for a week to partake in a course at University of the Arts London.
It’s a course that I have been wanting to do for some time now, and is one that is going to greatly support the work that I do with my business, Dak & Co.
I haven’t been to London for about 5 or so years, and this is my first trip here on my own.
As well as studying, I’ve spent so much time wandering the streets and exploring many areas that I haven’t been to before.
Whilst I’m here I’m staying in East London, an area which I knew nothing about before I arrived (except the fact that that you have to be “cool” to live here haha!), but is now an area that I can definitely see myself coming back to next time I’m here.
However, whilst East London is growing on me, Notting Hill (a district of West London), is where I’m always drawn to.
Known for its famous Portobello Road Markets and beautiful houses; Notting Hill is a serious destination for culture buffs and those on the hunt for a quintessential London experience.
Notting Hill is also an area that I’ve always dreamt of doing a photoshoot in, and I finally got to do that earlier this week.
Although I do a lot of photoshoots back home and am used to standing on streets and taking photos, I was actually a little nervous (and very excited!) for this one!
I decided to wear an outfit that is entirely sourced from the High Street here in London, and is very appropriate for the exceptionally warm weather that London experienced this week.
You all know I’m a massive fan of a top and midi skirt combo – so it was no surprised that I instantly gravitated toward this combo when I was shopping earlier this week!
I absolutely love this printed pleated skirt with it’s flared design and mid length fit. It’s also super light, meaning that its still a great option to wear in the warmer weather.
The cotton blend knitted top is the perfect piece to pair with the skirt, as its a simple yet classic style with the v neck and sleeveless style.
Now, let’s talk about the accessories because these are some absolute gems that I found on the High Street!
The bag is a cute and elegantly structured bucket piece, fashioned with a tassels and a drawstring – the perfect bag for summer too!
The sunglasses actually a style that I thought I wouldn’t be able to pull off! However, I love that they are bold frames, that still accentuate the allure of lightweight, full-coverage sunglasses.
Theres another Notting Hill photoshoot to come, so keep an eye out next week!
