I’ve been out of the corporate world for about 6 months now, and working for myself means that the majority of my time is spent perched at my desk wearing activewear (yep, and it’s damn comfy!).
The rest of the time is spent out and about at events, meetings or appointments, where I can literally wear whatever I like (which is an absolute dreaaaaaaam!).
BUT when I was working in the corporate world, my creative styling mind really did struggle with having to wear a corporate dress code.
And funnily enough now that I do work for myself, I like to sometimes channel my inner corporate, depending on where I’m going and what I’m doing.
So, this week’s What I Wore blog post features a great corporate look that I could definitely see myself and many others wearing for a day in the office, or when running around attending meetings.
What a love about this look is both the navy and gold tones, as well as the office appropriate vibes that it gives.
This Forcast Sandra Belted Dress projects a simple sophisticated look with it’s minimally timeless design and striped print. It’s midi length makes it 100% office appropriate, and the belted waist gives it a flattering silhouette, which accentuates the feminine figure.
I’ve paired it with this timeless, classic Witchery blazer to add a little more structure to the look.
I purchased this blazer a few years ago, and I’m not joking when I say that it really is a go-to piece in my wardrobe.
It’s slightly fitted shape around the waist, and navy colour with gold detailing makes it ideal for pairing with pretty much anything, including this dress!
Now, let’s talk about these Billini shoes!
These really are a statement heel with their strap over the toe, and gold keyring detail.
I love that these shoes tie in perfectly with the gold buttons on the blazer, buckle detailing on the waist of the dress, and earrings too!
Get the look!
