WHY I LOVE EXERCISING – AND YOU CAN TOO

I don’t think it will come as a surprise to many of you, that I love working out and exercising.

For me, exercise is the ultimate stress reliever.

It works like magic.

Especially the type of exercise that I do – HIIT (high intensity) that is, which is a great form of stress relief purely because it is SO fast paced and intense, your mind doesn’t even have time to think!

For me, I find that I tend to exercise more for the benefits that I get after a session – the good endorphins that just flow through the body. Sometimes I feel so on top of the world – that I can conquer anything!

Exercising isn’t for everyone. I know a few people close to me that detest it, but they still do it because they know how good they’ll feel afterwards.

So, I thought I’d share a few tips on how you can form a bit more of a love for it, or even a way to not detest it anymore!

Don’t expect to love it everyday

To think that there are people out there who genuinely like exercising every single day is a little misguided.

In reality, even those like me who love to exercise, will have days where they just don’t feel like it. They don’t feel like getting out of bed for their usual 6am class, or straight after work they would rather head home and chill out on the couch, then go to their spin class.

And you know what? That’s totally okay! It’s normal, and it’s also healthy. We can’t be expected to feel “on” and excited to exercise every single day!

You can feel part of a community

If you’re looking to make your workouts more enjoyable – and not involve you being at the gym by yourself on the treadmill, then why not try some form of group exercise that can help you become part of a community?

With an abundance of exercise options out there, whether it be F45 sessions, group spin classes, running groups or yoga; there is always an opportunity to meet new people in the fitness community.

If you can be a bit of an introvert like me, sometimes the last thing you want to do is talk to people at the gym, but sometimes it can also be nice to say hello to those you recognise in class.

Try different things – find what works for you

I can guarantee you that even people who love exercising, have at least one type of workout that they dislike.

However, they would only know this because they have tried different things, and established out which one works for them.

If you know that you don’t like running, but want other forms of cardio, then try circuit classes, riding, or sports. If you hate these – then try something else!

You have an excuse to buy heaps of activewear and gym accessories

And we all know that activewear doesn’t have to JUST be worn to the gym (aka it is socially acceptable to wear it pretty much anywhere!).

Activewear has come a long way since a few years ago where all we wore was a black pair of tights from Supre…

When you have activewear that suits and fits you, AND feels comfortable too, you’re more likley to want to workout in it too, right?

I hope that a few of these tips can motivate you to get out there and give exercising a red hot go.

Remember, you don’t have to love doing it, but I guarantee you will love the way it makes you feel afterwards!
