WHAT I WORE – TRAVELLING

This week’s What I Wore post is inspired by travelling, and the weekend trips that I have coming up (and I’m super excited about!).

I absolutely adore travelling, and have been incredibly lucky to travel to some beautiful places.

Ever since I was a little girl, I remember flying up to Cairns each June/July school holidays as an Unaccompanied Minor. I would travel with my favourite airline (QANTAS), get to wear a special badge, sit at the back of the plane with the flight attendants, and meet the Pilot – every.time.

It was and still is one of my most fondest memories of travelling, and is also why I love flying so much too.

This weekend I am heading up to Sydney with Mum for a girls weekend, and I seriously CANNOT WAIT.

Quick weekends away are sometimes the best type of getaway, as they allow you enough time to get out of your home town, see the sights of another, and then head back home just before starting the working week again. I love it!

You know what I also love? Wearing a super comfortable, yet classy and summer appropriate outfit whilst in transit.

I find that pinafores and overalls are the perfect outfits for travelling in.

It took me a while to find a pinafore that I liked, and one that didn’t make me feel like I was back in school – but I finally settled for this denim Asos piece.

It features super fun pockets at the front, and a great A-line shaped skirt.

I’ve paired this pinafore with an off the shoulder shirt from Country Road, that’s super relaxed and sits well underneath the denim. The long sleeves, with their added cuff-tie, balance the shape of the outfit. This off the shoulder look is perfect for the warm weather too!

I completed the outfit with a pair of Bensimon tennis sneakers that feature a soft canvas finish, lace up closure and rubber sole. These are the perfect light-weight shoes for summer wear.

Finally, this vintage Celine bag is a new favourite of mine that I received from my parents for Christmas. How Mum found this absolute gem, I do not know – but gosh she has an eye for beautiful things.

This will be the best carry-on bag for all my trips this year!

PS – What are your thoughts on the new look site? I think I’ve played around with it enough now, and am finally happy with how it looks.
