Don’t hate me for saying this, but I actually LOVE winter.
Now before you call me crazy, let me just confirm that the only reason I love winter is because of winter fashion…
I LOVE a good knitted skirt and turtle neck combo, as well as wearing faux fur and adding layers to create more personality to my outfits.
Living in Canberra (aka one of the coldest places in the country), means that there’s always an opportunity to experiment with a variety of looks during winter.
To continue on with my collaboration with Birdsnest (click here, here and here to take a look at my other Birdsnest collaboration blog posts), I have styled an outfit that is very appropriate for a Canberra winter.
This is an outfit fit for a beautifully cool day in Canberra, and definitely screams Parisian vibes.
The outfit features four key elements, which can also be worn with other pieces in your wardrobe too.
Let’s take a look…
On top is an ever practical and warm Pure Merino Fine Rib Polo from Foil, which is definitely a winter winner.
It features a roll neck, is semi fitted and has a very soft wool feel.
Pop it on under a vest or jacket, or wear it on its own; it’s a timeless essential AND machine washable as well!
I wanted to pair this look with a staple skirt. Featuring a knee length cut with a fitted elastic waistband, this Printed Swing Skirt from Handpicked by Birds is designed for all day wear.
It features a thick black stretch waistband, a-line cut and is semi fitted.
Thick enough to keep you warm, this printed skirt is perfect for pairing with tights and boots.
If you’re looking for a pair of boots that will get you through the winter months, these Marlee Long Boots by Human Premium are the ones for you!
With their inside full length zip, these are simple and easy to slip on and the over the knee height is to die for. They feature a round, closed almond toe and a stacked heel.
To finish off the look, I’m wearing the Sia Fishermans Cap by Kooringal.
This cap can be paired with whites and neutral tones for a chic and modern look, or with a darker outfit like this one.
