WHAT I WORE – BELL SLEEVES & FLARES

I’m never normally one to follow trends.

I tend to stick to the beat of my own drum, and wear what I feel comfortable in.

However, there are a couple of trends that I am most definitely on board with this season: bell sleeves and flares. I’m all.over.it!

I recently combined both of these trends into one, in what I like to think of as a very New York inspired look (we even felt that this shoot location was a bit Brooklyn like as well – oh if only!).

Both the Bell Sleeve Top and Ruffle Hem Trousers are from Miss Selfridge, a brand that I become very familiar with when I was visiting London a few years ago.

It’s a British brand that is known for it’s affordable, on trend pieces, and they offer a great range of go-to looks for when you’re in a trend-following mood.

The Miss Selfridge Stripe Frill Top is a classic style, with a quirky twist.

The bell sleeves add a touch of drama, and point of interest to the look. The knit itself is super snug, and the graphic white sporting stripes make it easy to style with other elements.

The Miss Selfridge Ruffle Hem Trousers are perfect for both work and play as they are quite structured, but still fun with their flared hem at the bottom.

These trousers also have a flattering high-rise waistline, and are super stretchy too, making them reaaaaaaaaally comfortable.

I paired the look with an old favourite Seed Heritage grey vest/coat, which I think breaks up the black and white, and also makes it even more suitable for corporate wear.

These Therapy “Vinita” shoes are great ones to slip into with their back ankle strap and buckle fastening.

I really love the shape of the thick, block heel, as well as the pointed toe.

Get the look!
