WHAT I WORE: ALICE MCCALL AT FASHFEST

FASHFEST – Canberra’s biggest three-day fashion experience, began on Thursday evening at the National Convention Centre.

Naturally, being the opening show and launch of the event for this year, I went along to support not only the local designers, but also Canberran’s who work in the creative scene.

Every year FASHFEST is known for being one of Canberra’s ‘night of nights’.

It’s an opportunity for fellow fashionistas, bloggers, businesses owners, artists, models and musicians to catch up and connect over similar interests.

It’s also an opportunity to catch up with those you may follow on Instagram and social media throughout the year, and may only meet that night!!

For FASHFEST opening night, I was very lucky enough to be invited to wear a beautiful garment from Lonsdale Street store, Rebel Muse.

Rebel Muse is Canberra’s premier women’s fashion retailer that is more than just a retail outlet. It stocks some of the best Australian Designers and labels in women’s apparel, shoes, and accessories.

Rebel Muse is a unique fashion experience! They want women to feel comfortable, sexy and empowered through the clothes they wear and the personalised service that they provide.

I’ll admit, their vast range of designers and labels made it VERY difficult for me to choose my outfit for FASHFEST, but after seeing this dress on the hanger, and knowing that it was one that was quite different to what I would normally wear; I just knew that I had to at least try it on and see how it looked!

After trying this Alice McCall Marigold Dress on, I instantly fell in love with it’s shape, and the way it fell on the body.

This dress is cut from a sheer black fabric and has embroidered floral motifs in pink shades all over – making it a great spring/summer style! Sitting close to the neckline and grazing the ankles, this style is gathered to create fullness through the bust and nipping in at the waist.

Made with a mini slip, this style also has the perfect amount of skin showing for any after dark event – perfect for something like FASHFEST!

What I also love about this dress is how I felt wearing it.

I felt beautiful, whimsical, but also comfortable too – there is nothing worse than wearing an outfit to a long event that you don’t feel comfortable in!

This dress just sat well in all the right areas.

Get the look!
